THE NIGHT MODE
PROTOCOL

01. Origin

"We don't remember who started it. That's the point."

— Transmission 001, Berlin, 2019

It started in a condemned power station on the outskirts of Berlin. Winter 2019. The kind of cold that makes your breath visible under the strobes. Someone had rigged a Funktion-One system to an industrial generator, and for 14 hours, 200 people existed outside of time.

But something was wrong. Look around any rave and you'd see the same thing: disposable neon, Amazon costumes, fast fashion that falls apart before sunrise. The underground had been colonized by the mainstream. The aesthetic that once meant something—the balaclavas, the industrial hardware, the deliberate anonymity—had become a costume.

Night Mode Collective was born that night.

Not as a brand. As a response. A small group of ravers, designers, and misfits who decided that if the scene had lost its edge, we'd forge a new one. We started making gear for ourselves— balaclavas that could survive a dust storm, harnesses that actually held weight, visors that weren't plastic garbage.

People started asking where we got our gear. We didn't have an answer. So we made one.

Sunrises

Today, we operate from the shadows. No headquarters. No faces. Just a network of warehouses in Berlin, Kyiv, Los Angeles, and São Paulo. We drop when we're ready. We disappear when we're done. The only thing that matters is the gear—and the people who wear it until the lights come on.

Our visual language is drawn from the concrete walls of Berghain, the glitchy interfaces of 90s sci-fi, and the raw utility of industrial safety gear.
